Cost Engineer: Support C4ISR, Radar, Electronic Warfare
Cost Engineer: Support C4ISR, Radar, Electronic Warfare, and Electro-Optical architecture and configuration trades by providing
life-cycle cost, schedule and risk estimates based on system performance, design parameters, and manufacturing processes.
US citizenship required.
Typical
duties include development of: 1) Sub-assembly-level cost targets, 2) Cost estimating relationships (CERS); 3) Total ownership cost
models; 4) Optimal "best-value" system configurations; and 5) Cost and schedule risk simulations. Responsibilities commensurate with capabilities
and experience. Minimum BS in Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a
technical field. Excellent communications and ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance required. Cost Engineering experience highly
desirable.
Cost engineering is a cost modeling function that entails developing high-fidelity cost algorithms. Cost modeling as a support
function is the primary activity.
The ideal candidates for the cost engineering positions would:
1) Have 3+ years of cost engineering experience - or less than 5-7 years of design or systems experience.
2) Have resumes that highlight cost algorithm development, modeling, forecasting, optimization, or trade automation The cost
models that the individuals would devise may be based on already generated models, but they are entirely tailored to the specific
program. No commercial software is employed by the cost engineer.
