The successful candidate will define and execute data collection processes, develop reports and queries to support Operational Risk Management, and fulfill WaMu's ORX obligations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, management information systems, statistics or economics. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in risk management or related fields, including public accounting, internal audit, data security, business continuity planning, financial analysis, or compliance in the financial services, insurance, or retail business sectors. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 or Basel II Accord implementations, as well as data warehouse, data mining, business intelligence, reporting, data management, or data mart applications is desirable.
- Proficiency in principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of financial services industry practices and regulatory requirements, including lending, deposit, treasury, and support operations.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to probe sensitive issues while maintaining the highest level of integrity and objectivity.
- The ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
- Knowledge of OLAP, Crystal Reports and dashboard/scorecards.
- The desire to establish productive working relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and multitasking skills.
- Strong familiarity with relational databases and SQL (Oracle skills preferred), in addition to MS Excel.
- Possession of, or willingness to pursue, professional certification (CPA, CIA, Certified Risk Professional, or Financial Risk Manager).
