Datamining Engineer (Washington, DC area)

Position Description:
Snowfish, LLC is a small but rapidly growing marketing firm with an opening for a very strong data mining consultant. The position will initially be a consulting position with a strong prospect of becoming a permanent position as our firm continues to grow.

Snowfish works with clients within the pharmaceutical industry by helping target marketing programs using a unique data driven approach. We are looking for a person with strong software skills that will be able to work with various data sources and turn random information into knowledge. This is an entrepreneurial position and not for the faint at heart. If you have great ideas and solid technical skills this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You will need to have a computer science background and a broad experience working with various software programs. Key is the ability to program and write data extraction scripts. Ideally the person will have 4-10 years of professional experience and strong academic and professional credentials. Personal characteristics should include flexibility, professionalism, communication skills and a strong desire to be a part of an innovative team.

Technical Skills:

The person should have a strong working knowledge of SQL.

SOFTWARE: Oracle, SPSS Clementine, MS Office

DATA MINING: Decision Trees, Association Rules, Clustering, Regression, Time Sequence Matching, Link Analysis, Kohonen Maps, Neural Nets, Peer Comparison, Nearest Neighbor, Naïve Bayes

LANGUAGES: C/C++, Java, SQL, MySQL, Perl

DATA MINING TECHNOLOGIES: Fuzzy Name Matching, Link Analysis

Location: We strongly prefer an individual based in the Washington, DC area.
