SAS Analyst - Dell (Texas)
Dell Services group is looking for a self-motivated and experienced SAS Programmer / Business Analyst for it's Service Analytics team in Austin, TX.
Dell Service Analytics team is responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities in the service network and recommending business/process changes to improve customer satisfaction. As an analyst in the Services team, you will play a key role in supporting our process engineers and program implementaion managers through regular reporting and ad-hoc analyses such as process benchmarking, customer segmentation, program/pilot scorecarding, and statistical analysis. You will also work directly with our process engineers and program managers on a variety of interesting data warehousing and analysis projects which are critical to enabling data-driven business decisions.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical and general analytic skills as well as a strong internal customer service orientation.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years as a SAS programmer or analyst working in a similar capacity with multiple RDBMS systems (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, DB2, etc). Required skills include:
- Strong SAS skills
- Strong SQL skills
- Data Mining Experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks as part of a cross functional team including strong organizational skills and ability to manage own workload to meet delivery dates
- Experience with base SAS language, Enterprise Guide, and Enterprise Miner
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel for reports and data manipulation
- Experience as a technical or project lead on large scale data analysis or development efforts
- Proficiency with MS Office programs
- Ability to create appropriate presentation materials to accurately convey business impacts of process changes and/or strategic initiatives
- BS or MS Degree in a highly technical/mathematical discipline (i.e., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics) with extensive knowledge in statistical theory (regression and multivariate statistics) and data mining techniques
Preferred Skills:
- Experience (at least 1 year) with Teradata RDBMS and utilities a major plus
- Experience using PERL for data manipulation and processing
- Experience with one or more major reporting tools such as Business Objects, Microstrategy, Cognos, or Hyperion (Brio)
- SQL/OLAP, MS Analysis Services 2005, and Web Development experience highly preferred
- Work experience utilizing predictive modeling and advanced data mining techniques in a real-world setting
