Web Analytics Manager / Sony (San Diego)

Title: Web Analytics Manager
Description: ImageStation is looking for an experienced, self-motivated problem solver who thoroughly understands how website analytics can impact business decisions and affect online marketing campaigns. This position requires excellent technical and interpersonal skills and a strong team player attitude.

As Web Analytics Manager you will utilize business acumen, problem solving, data mining and analytic skills to define relevant website performance metrics and produce clear, useful reports and ongoing strategic guidance to senior leadership. Analysis is complex and requires vast amounts of technical data to be synthesized into actionable recommendations using web server logs, SQL tools and Omniture analytics software.

You will be responsible for ensuring campaigns are being optimized from pay per click advertising, search engine optimization, outbound marketing campaigns, e-mail communications, organic traffic, affiliate traffic and emerging outlets such as RSS feeds and blogs.

This position requires constant education and research to maintain a foothold on the web analytics industry. The ideal candidate will be proactive in pursuing online knowledge resources and recommend live workshops and conferences as needed. You will be looked to as the web analytics guru, and should always be informed about the newest tools and techniques to streamline our analytics process, improve customer experience, and deliver a superior photo-sharing service.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an information dashboard to report on user activities including key customer behavior metrics, site visits, campaign conversion, etc.
  • Develop and maintain process for campaign tracking for all marketing, affiliate, and search engine optimization efforts.
  • Create clear and useful reports that provide insight into consumer behavior and recommendations for web site enhancement.
  • Maintain our Omniture integration and update/apply bug fixes as needed.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to provide data and recommendations for effective online marketing campaigns
  • Stay informed and keeps team briefed on industry changes and best practices.

Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years of web analytics experience for a high-traffic web site
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in forecasting/modeling a plus


This Job Requires the Follow Skills:
  • Omniture/Google Analytics expert
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce and web site design with focus on analytics and click path analysis
  • Entrepreneurial, detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in command line *NIX and Windows environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Perl, XML, HTML, JavaScript
  • Strong SQL experience, preferably with Oracle 9i/10g
  • Microsoft Office Suite Excel (+ macro creation), Word, PowerPoint


Education Required: Batchelor's Degree in Computer or Marketing Related Field
Planned Duration of Employment: Full Time
