If you are selected for this position, you will originate and perform
economic analyses and forecasts pertaining to the relationship between energy
markets and the macro economy and to maintain and enhance models for use in
simulation studies. You will develop new and novel analysis systems for which
precedents are lacking and specific attributes must be developed and tested.
These new systems are expected to make substantial contributions to major
functions and operations of the Department of Energy dealing with issues having
national or international impact. Projects require creativity and
experimentation, development of innovative techniques, advanced approached, and
consideration of the effects of new and emerging technologies, rapidly changing
industry practices, mergers and restructurings, new regulations, and other
changes in the world and national economies. You will conduct studies important
to agency decision-makers.
In addition, as a project manager for energy and economic analytic studies
for the EIA, you will serve as a management official with responsibility for
formulating and/or influencing the corporate policies of the EIA regarding
resource allocations (both FTE and contract support service) and other technical
matters in support of the efficient and effective execution of the EIA mission
in the area of projecting macroeconomic trends. This role may impact present or
future personnel policy or practice or general employment condition of EIA
staff.
