Statistical Analyst/Data Modeler, Financial District (San Francisco, CA)


Quality Planning Corporation, a unit of ISO, is an insurance solutions company specializing in analytics, information and decision support for the private passenger automobile insurance industry. Our clients include many of the nations leading property and casualty insurers.

QPC is revolutionizing insurance underwriting through innovative and technology-rich solutions to risk management problems. We are looking for bright, energetic, hard working individuals with good business sense who enjoy working in fast paced environments and who are willing to assume increasing responsibilities. The right person for the job will be able to learn our business logic and apply it to client needs. Our work environment is fun and informal but highly professional.

We currently have an opening for a Statistical Analyst/Data Modeler.

The person in this position will:

1. Build datasets for analysis
2. Develop statistical models
3. Research new statistical techniques
4. Test existing and new models
5. Develop analytical reports and research papers

Qualifications:
1. Solid SQL programming skills and experience working with large relational databases.
2. Knowledge of regression models (OLS, logistic and ANOVA).
3. Experience with at least one of the following languages: SAS or SPSS or STATA or S-Plus/R.
4. At least a Masters degree OR a Bachelors degree and passed the Society of Actuaries Preliminary Exams OR a Bachelors degree and equivalent work experience.
5. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
6. Knowledge of techniques such as Regression Trees, Artificial Neural Networks, Text Mining, Branch Reduction Models or Support Vector Machines a plus.
7. Knowledge of the insurance industry a plus.

Compensation:
