Database Marketing Analyst (New York, NY)


Register.com a leading provider of global domain name registration and Internet services with over three million domain names under management is seeking a Database Marketing Analyst to join it's fast paced direct marketing department. The ideal candidate is a degreed individual that will manage database marketing projects and perform statistical analysis utilizing its database of more than 900 thousand customers.

This talented professional will be responsible for selecting customer lists for mailings based on complex marketing segmentation. Additionally the Marketing Database Analyst will be responsible for administering the contact optimization program, analyzing the profitability of the program and making appropriate revisions. The incumbent will create a variety of ad hoc reports and maintain and update the marketing database as needed.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or Statistics. The individual has significant experience related to database analysis, programming, or computer operations. Specifically, experience in database analysis (including segmentation techniques, direct/target marketing, and analysis of large populations) is required. Direct marketing experience is required. Finally, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced knowledge of Excel and Access, and superb attention to detail is required.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree with emphasis in statistics, mathematics, economics, marketing, marketing research or other quantitative discipline
• Minimum two years in database marketing, statistical analysis, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of research methods and statistics; especially multivariate/predictive techniques as they apply to direct marketing. Experience with large databases preferred.
• Working knowledge of at least one statistical software package such as SAS or SPSS required. Basic knowledge of marketing, personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
• Solid experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Self motivated with the ability to complete assignments with minimum supervision
• Detail oriented, well organized and ability to multi-task
• Ability to convey complex results and issues both verbally and in writing to non-technical audience
• Ability to grasp data and business issues
• Must be able to work without written specs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Experience in a Direct Marketing environment a must
