Role Profile
The Predictive Analytics Scientist will innovate and define new predictive analytics that enable advanced business intelligences and performance management solutions for health care organizations. These solutions include techniques such as segmentation, forecasting and optimization that help focus executives, managers and staff on opportunities to improve the performance of their organization from strategic planning to tactical operations.
The primary role of the Scientist is as a creative thought leader, innovator, problem solver and expert who can work collaboratively across the organization. The Scientist will work with client teams to understand needs in addition to researching and adapting new methodologies and techniques deliver measurable results. The Scientist will establish the predictive models and services and will provide specifications to engineers for development and/or deployment.
The ideal candidate is someone who can embrace the challenge of achieving sophistication through simplicity and strive to reduce traditional time frames of months to weeks and days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Research and develop new predictive analytics to extend and grow MedeFinance solutions and services
•Partner with Product Managers, fellow Scientists and Client Service Managers to define, develop and launch new products that enable advanced solution and service offerings
•Stay at the forefront of new analytical techniques in health care and the business world
•Provide expertise and support to client account teams including client-facing meetings
•Prototype predictive analytics, develop initial processes and create specifications for development, QA and operations teams
•Serve as a thought leader within the health care industry including articles in publications, industry conferences attendance and business partners collaborations
Essential Skills, Experience and Education
•MS in Forecasting, Statistics, Operations Research, or Mathematics - Ph.D. preferred
•Demonstrated experience solving complex problems using techniques such as segmentation, scoring, forecasting and optimization
•Ability to think strategically but also knowing when to roll up the sleeves and focus on getting it done
•Outstanding innovation, strategic thinking, and problem solving abilities
•Communicates effectively with individuals up, down, and across the organization
•Advanced working knowledge of MATLAB, SPSS, SAS and other statistical, mathematical and simulation tool sets.
•Proven ability to provide scientific requirements to software engineering and deployment teams
•Excellent active listening and interpersonal communication skills
•Preferred background in healthcare industry and hospital operations
