Job Description

Apply broad technical knowledge and skills to analyze, develop and implement solutions for process improvements, trouble-shooting, production support and new product development in assigned area. Participate in design/analysis/implementation of new products or business initiatives. Job requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; and five years of experience across full life cycle application and systems development; programming experience; product training; and certification (e.g. C/C++ programming language, Unix and Shell Scripts, Sybase Transact SQL, Novell, JavaScript).

Duties:

This is a SAS administrator position where the SAS application runs in multiple UNIX environments as well as stand-alone PCs. The SAS environment is composed of a Consolidated Computing Environment in Solaris, distributed environment in AIX and PC SAS editions which are mixed LAN and locally based. Additionally, the SAS administrator is required to cooperate and coordinate with the Mainframe SAS installation and administrator. 24 x 7 on call availability sometimes needed during the month.

Duties include maintaining software patch levels and planning for future product implementations. Maintaining the consolidated environment requires, monitoring the hosts for usage and load as well as working with scripts to enable users to use the software within minimal interaction. Must have knowledge of various storage systems including SAN, NAS and hierarchical file systems. Sun GRID engine is utilized for load management in a distributed environment.
