Manager of Statistical Modeling (Atlanta, GA)

Functions/Responsibilities of the posItion:

• Manage the company’s modeling function to develop advanced modeling and analytical solutions
• Design modeling and analytical projects to serve specific business needs in various business areas
• Conduct and oversee model development to ensure the best technical practice in the following areas:
  • Data specification and preparation
  • Sample selection and creation
  • Exploratory data analysis
  • Modeling methodology and procedures
  • Score validations
• Conduct or oversee data analytics to support value enhancement strategies
• Monitor predictive model performance and evaluate scoring based operation strategies to ensure optimal results
• Enhance modeling and analytical methodology / infrastructure by exploring
  • New modeling and data mining techniques
  • Statistical or data mining software and tools
  • Various data sources

Skills/Competencies:

• Comprehensive knowledge of advance statistical modeling and data analytical techniques
• Highly experienced with SAS and other statistical / modeling tools / software packages
• Database and data warehouse experience
• Programming experience in SQL desirable
• Able to address both the statistical and “art piece” of model building and data analytics
• Strong communication skills; Fluent in Portuguese a plus
• Strong work ethic

Ideal Experience / Academic background:

• Master’s degree or above in Statistics or related field is required
• Minimum of 5 years statistical modeling experience gained in a financial institute, financial service consulting or similar environment
• 1 – 2 years of management experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with credit scoring and it’s business applications is preferred, as is knowledge of credit data and credit attributes
