Senior Statistical Programming Analyst, SAS - Merck (Rahway, NJ)

You will work in conjunction with biostatisticians supporting Phase II - III projects. You will support for the coordination of activities and resources required for definition, development, execution and delivery of all reporting deliverables for drug projects; create, document, and validate statistical programs which may generate analysis datasets, tables and graphics, and as well as support experimental and exploratory analyses; develop program modules for analyses which can be utilized across therapeutic franchises; write programs to analyze data with statistical methods which are not currently available through commercial software packages; develop tools to retrieve large amounts of data from available databases, merge them, and place the data into SAS or other types of analyzable data files and interact with individuals from other functional areas in Merck Research Laboratories.

MS degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Computer Science with at least 5 years relevant experience involving statistical programming in the pharmaceutical industry; SAS programming expertise (at least 5 years); solid knowledge of statistical methods, an ability to comprehend statistical analysis plans and SAS manuals which describe statistical methodology to be programmed; systems and database expertise; good communication skills with a demonstrated history of teamwork and collaboration.
