Senior Statistician (Seattle, WA)
The Advanced Analytics team at our client is looking for a Senior Statistician with experience working with real data sets to solve business problems. The Advanced Analytics team is a part of the Business Intelligence Competency Center and supports the business as a central consulting resource. The team’s responsibilities include statistical analysis and modeling, forecasting, data mining, statistical consulting, and analytical leadership. This role provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of business problems utilizing a variety of analysis techniques.
Responsibilities
- Consult with business units and conduct analysis to provide actionable results.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and quantitative analysis to support business needs; may include response models, cross-sell / up-sell analysis, retention models, offer optimization, forecasting, customer value analysis, etc.
- Mentor and teach analysts in partner departments. Provide guidance and tools to enable other teams to “self-service” where appropriate.
- Provide thought-leadership and creativity to identify opportunities to apply statistics, modeling, or analytics to bring value to the business.

Structure project plans, set expectations, and communicate with business partners. Present and communicate results in manner appropriate for target audience.
Experience
- Solid ability to work with business units to understand their needs and to use those requirements to conduct appropriate data analysis to effectively deliver results.
- Broad experience in applying exploratory data analysis, data mining techniques, and/or statistics to real-world data. Familiarity with predictive modeling, survival analysis, and pattern recognition techniques is desirable.
- Experience with data mining tools and statistical packages required. Must have strong SAS programming skills.
- Ability to conduct ad hoc querying and reporting from large databases is required. Oracle and Teradata experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with both technical and business audiences are vital.
- Must be able to provide technical leadership and manage multiple projects.
- A Masters degree in statistics other applied quantitative field and at least five years of related experience required.
