Marketing Analytics Manager (San Francisco, CA)
My client, a large healthcare company in San Francisco, is looking for a Marketing Analytics Manager. Candidates should have excellent strategic and analytical marketing experience, especially from a customer segementation side, etc. Strong quantitative skills (i.e. SQL, SAS, etc.) are also highly desirable, however, the strategic and overall marketing analytical component will be the focus of this position. Candidates that are a little bit more junior in experience level, but who are very bright, trainable, and wanting to move up are also welcome to apply. This individual will be help frame business problems into structured, analytical research projects, develop recommendations and present findings. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILIIES:
• Provides in-depth data analysis and research support as a member of the Marketing organization
• Works with product and segment organizations to segment customer base, identify opportunities and quantify the value of customer programs to our company and customers
• Designs and generates reports related to segments, customers, and programs
• Consults with project teams throughout all phases of project lifecycle: problem definition, scoping, work plan development, execution and presentation of findings
• Organizes and manages data store of relevant customer/market/segment data
• Uses intermediate statistical/data mining techniques and draws upon direct business experience to analyze business problems, outline potential solution options and develop recommendations
• Provides hands-on support to provision data from a variety of internal sources (Oracle/IW, SAP/BW, Business Objects, Mainframe, etc.)
• Coordinates and ensures proper data feeds to/from external and internal sources
• All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 5+ years experience in analytics role, preferably in marketing or finance.
• Proficiency in business modeling, marketing, finance, operations management, process engineering,
• Ability to design, develop, implement and support business reports and reporting capabilities
• Computing skills highly desirable: SQL, SAS, MS Access, Excel
• Proven effectiveness in project management and delivery
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Proven effectiveness as a creative problem solver; ability to challenge conventional approaches and think outside the box.
• Strong attention to detail
Bachelors degree required, advanced degree in Marketing, Economics, Finance, or Statistics preferred
• Familiarity with change management principles, projects
• Ability to design and/or develop data and business applications, as needed.
• Experience in business-to-business or service marketing; pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
• Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Demonstrated results orientation and follow-through
• Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
