JOB DESCRIPTION
eBay is a global organization with over 20 payment partners/vendors supporting 12 different payment methods. We support billing, payments and collections from eBay sellers listing goods for sale on over 20 different eBay sites around the world.
The eBay Global Billing & Collections Department is seeking a top performer to join its Metrics and Analysis team which provides all analytical support for the Global Billing & Collections business, including payment processing, collections, and bad debt management.
As a Metrics and Analytics Manager, your responsibilities will be to strategize and implement processes and publish reports and analyses relating to Global Billing and Collections activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires a thorough understanding of the business drivers and a strong background in quantitative disciplines (statistics, mathematics, finance).
The successful candidate will be required to:
Proactively find trends in the information and deliver new initiatives for business improvement.
Perform sophisticated analyses such as segmentation analysis and forecasting models.
Understand the source, content, and definitions of data residing in eBay''s data warehouse and Global Billing database and work closely with internal units to design and deliver key performance measurements (operational, financial and marketing) and strategic analyses.
Communicate with production management to identify high impact opportunities, and implement solutions into production workflow.
The candidate must demonstrate high energy/creativity, a passion for analyzing highly complex data sets, relentless customer-focus, a deep practical understanding of quantitative methods, effective communication/presentation skills and superb attention to details.
It is preferred that the candidate possesses an advanced degree with coursework or certification in statistics, econometrics or quantitative market research, and a minimum of four years of work experience in a relevant industry such as credit card and risk management, preferably within the Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Operations Research, Data-Mining or Business Intelligence department of a fast-growing company. Advanced/expert technical skills in SAS is required.
BS/BA degree or equivalent
2-5 years related work experience
