JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Search Quality Statistician - New York This position is based in New York, NY. Help evaluate and improve Google web search and other search applications. The Senior Search Quality Statistician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring search quality. Responsibilities: - Research and develop methods for measuring and analyzing search quality.
- Lead investigations into multiple streams of search quality data.
- Design experiments to answer targeted questions.
- Find innovative ways to use Google data to improve existing systems and processes.
- Serve as a general statistical consulting resource for Google engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in statistics or MS with equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
- Substantial real-world experience, especially in data analysis, predictive modeling and experimental design.
- Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
- Ability to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
- Expertise in statistical software (R, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
- Proficiency with databases and scripting languages (such as Python).
