Computational Biologist (Cambridge, MA)

We are looking for highly motivated, innovative individual who is dedicated to utilizing computational models to guide drug development and likes to work in a very interdisciplinary environment. The candidate will be primarily responsible for designing mechanistic biochemical models of signal transduction networks using ordinary differential equations in very close collaboration with experimentalists. In addition, the candidate is expected to apply different modeling techniques in order to advance the drug development. The candidate will be required to produce publication quality research and to present at company-wide meetings and in front of an expert panel of advisors.
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of biology and the field of bioengineering/mathematics/biophysics are required. Therefore the successful candidate will have a PhD in Bioengineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering or Physics. Familiarity with a variety of modeling techniques (i.e. principal component analysis, cluster analysis, partial least squares regression, ordinary differential equations) and software packages is desired (Matlab, Linux, Teranonode, SAS, C++). As this position will interact with extensively with a variety of research groups, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
