Senior Risk Analyst (San Diego, CA)

Responsibilities include:

• interface with sales and prospective clients to discuss data needs and gain clarity on submitted portfolios;
  
• use a variety of tools to format and scrub data for input into models;
  
• identify anomalies in data and gain an understanding of same;
  
• analyze consumer data with the goal of creating forecasted collection curves for the purchase of consumer portfolios as well as evaluating risks associated with same;
  
• determine, define and refine data elements that are critical to analysis;
  
• analyze internal collections data to support collections strategies;
  
• present pricing strategies and results to management team;
  
• aid staff at prospective clients in extracting data from their systems.
  

Requirements include:

• 2-5 years relevant experience;
  
• advanced degree in statistics, econometrics, or mathematics;
  
• proficiency with SAS/BASE and SAS/STAT;
  
• expertise with formal statistical methodologies, including forecasting techniques;
  
• experience with traditional credit risk management techniques;
  
• experience building account-level decisioning algorithms;
  
• experience developing predictive scoring models;
  
• experience quantifying the cost-benefit of competing scoring models and/or decisioning algorithms.
  

You must:

• be highly motivated;
  
• have strong technical capabilities;
  
• be able to clearly explain methodology and results to senior management, and
  
• be able to prioritize multiple projects and redirect efforts quickly to meet market demand and opportunity.
