Behind every successful direct response program launched by a company or non-profit organization is a person with exceptional analytical prowess. We're looking for that statistical orientation from you as our Marketing Manager, who will "own" customer winback and retention programs that are crucial to our business. You will turn to our copywriters and design team to craft the actual messaging and look of your campaigns, and the limited creative aspect to the role means we could also title you as our Direct Response Data Analytics Manager or our Operations Manager for Direct Messaging Data. Your analytic skills will help us to evaluate and select contact lists, determine what the "ask" is in our campaign, measure the response to our offer along many different available metrics and incorporate campaign refinements into subsequent direct response programs. This is the ideal role for someone who wants to leverage analysis skills in Excel, SQL or SAS to ensure that our outreach is effectively winning back and/or retaining customers.

As our San Francisco-based Marketing Manager for winback and retention, your first mission will be mastering our homegrown, trigger-driven database system that drives a lot of our direct response activity. For you to perform day-to-day care and upkeep, as well as to effect changes to the content and timing of documents sent to our call center, comfort working with fairly complex table driven programs will be key, as there is no formal system documentation. You will manage synchronized direct mail, email and telemarketing campaigns to win back former customers. Your ultimate success in this role will come from testing various messages measuring the responses and then refining the message The successful candidate will have the analytical savvy to slice and dice a campaign along many different criteria to cost justify results to a senior management team who feed on such hard numbers. To this end, your prior experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising software or more generic analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, SAS, Access or Oracle must be an integral part of your skill set.
