VP, Retail Market Strategy & Analysis (New York, NY)

The Harte-Hanks Analytics group provides consultative support to clients which is data-based, analysis-driven and grounded in a solid understanding of direct marketing and customer relationship management. We conduct customer and product analyses, develop models, and design tests, often incorporating primary research to uncover attitudes driving behavior. We overlay that with a clear understanding of the marketplace gained through in-dept. geo-demographic analysis - all with the goal being to ensure that what is learned becomes part of the client’s body of knowledge.

Objective:

• Retain and grow Harte-Hanks’ analytic client base, revenue and profitability by generating incremental sales opportunities for the Retail Analytics team. Growth will be achieved by:
• Evangelizing the need for analysis to drive better results
• Providing strategic direction to a team of vertical marketing analysts
• Developing, recommending and selling data-driven strategies for our clients
• Increasing the value of deliverables by providing client and industry insight and recommendations
• Providing new and fresh ideas for client engagements to bring analytics to the next level
• Expanding the current array of services

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grow revenue and profitability for Harte-Hanks by successfully integrating analytic solutions into core service offerings
• Provide input to proposals submitted by the Retail Sales Organization and Client Services team
• Collaborate with Harte-Hanks’ Retail Sales and Service Organizations to develop, market and implement integrated services and solutions
• Work with retail focused analytics and agency teams to implement a strategic plan to provide vision and focus on measurable goals
• Identify opportunities to apply market research and data analytic methodologies to improve clients’ marketing & sales results
• Provide thought leadership pertaining to data-driven retail strategies – especially surrounding multi-channel and digital communications
• Create new product offerings to address client needs such as acquisition, loyalty, best customer profiling through the use of data mining, modeling and market research
• Generate internal and external awareness of Analytics’ capabilities (e.g., capabilities presentations, trade journal articles, speaking engagements, trade show attendance)
• Participate and/or present at client meetings and conference calls

Requirements:

• BA/BS; MBA preferred
• Experience: 10+ years’ experience in either of the following:
1) Direct/database marketing management responsibility in a Retail organization; or
2) Retail client/account management responsibility in a direct/database marketing services organization
• Proven knowledge of database marketing strategies in the Retail industry and experience in translating marketing objectives into analytical and/or database marketing applications
• Creative self-starter capable to both develop and systematize strategies for solutions development and new business development
• Ability to manage and facilitate complex working relationships including client and multiple Harte-Hanks pillars/units
• Solid written and Excellent oral communication/presentation skills
• Team-oriented, with a track record of excellence in client services and business development
