Description:
This role includes both client-facing activity, and a supervisory
role. Individually responsible for delivery of high-level
technology-oriented messages to customers in sales
engagements. Directly supervises Systems Engineer(s) who are
responsible for providing technical pre-sales support to Latin America
and Caribbean Accounts. Leads team in support on all SAS System
products and solutions and assisting in implementing identified sales
strategies.
Responsibilities include: Provides technical assistance
for software pre-sale and post-sale activities utilizing knowledge of
industry or industry segment processes and pains; Identifies key
accounts and determines strategies to maximize revenue; Hires,
mentors, and trains Systems Engineers and possibly other technical
sales support staff; Determines optimal utilization of staff and
resources to achieve sales goals; Works with sales management to
optimize resources for all opportunities; Communicates corporate
marketing strategies and procedures for assigned company software
products or market segments to sales and technical sales support staff
and third-party relationships; May recommend changes in strategy where
and when appropriate; Ensures adherence to policy in all sales plans
and strategies; Analyzes cost of technical sales support; Supports and
reinforces best practices, with heavy emphasis on Revenue Storm Sales
Methodology.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelors/Associates/High School in a business or quantitative field of study with;
- 6 years/ 8 years/ 10 years respectively of experience in technical sales, marketing, or technical support;
- Two years experience selling, supporting, or writing applications with SAS software;
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of hardware and software sales techniques
and principles; demonstrated knowledge of at least one industry or
market segment; knowledge of corporate and/or government software and
hardware acquisition cycles and buying influences preferred. Strong
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; demonstrated
leadership skills and experience coordinating/supporting technical
sales. Sound organizational, planning, decision-making and project
management skills. Ability to write SAS applications and user
interfaces to SAS software; ability to develop vertical industry
applications; ability to work and learn independently and as part of a
team; ability to travel as business dictates.
Preferences:
- One year supervisory experience or two years coordinating/supporting technical sales or marketing projects
- Knowledge of the SAS 9 Enterprise Platform and Solutions
- Experience positioning and implementing BI and Analytic BI solutions
- Direct Experience as Systems Engineer or equivalent technical experience
