We are based in New York City and are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Data Analyst to fill a full-time position immediately.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must for both technical and business audiences. Must be able to thrive both independently when necessary and as part of a larger team.

Become an expert in the data behind the business of Baseball. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst at mlb.com will work in a SAS/Oracle environment. We seek an applicant with 3+ years of report building with experience in OLAP in a SAS environment. The applicant should have a very strong knowledge of relational data bases specifically Oracle as well as thorough knowledge of data warehousing techniques. We are seeking an individual with experience working on large customer/marketing databases. The position will interact directly with business users/owners to understand their requirements and needs for analytical reports and applications. The position will be responsible for analyzing data then suggesting and implementing solutions based on that data. The role will have direct influence on strategic and marketing decisions. The ability to recognize business trends and data quality issues is paramount.

• Working experience using SQL with Oracle
  
• Strong BASE SAS Coding Skills
  
• SAS Enterprise Guide and Web Report Studio
  
• Strong experience with OLAP reporting.
  
• SQL Editor Tool Skills (SQL Navigator/Toad or Rapid SQL)
  
• Comfortable within a UNIX environment
  
• Strong understanding of database performance and tuning
  
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment with strength in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks
  
• Very Strong presentation skills for technical and business audiences
  

• PL/SQL
  
• Strong with Excel/PowerPoint
  
• Web Technologies such as Java/JavaScript/HTML
  
• Perl Scripting a plus
