Analytics Software Tester - SAS (Cary, NC)

Description: Join the world's leading statistical software company and use your skills as a statistician in software testing—an essential and challenging area of our development process. Our testing group is growing to match our expanding statistical software, and we are looking for a statistician with training in survival analysis and generalized linear models.

In this position, you will test SAS software for statistical modeling and data analysis, including new and existing procedures. You will review relevant statistical literature; develop testing techniques; construct test programs to validate results and functionality; run test programs across a variety of computing platforms; and evaluate test coverage. You will also participate in the documentaiton process and act as a customer advocate by providing feedback to the development staff.

Qualifications:

Essential: Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, economics, or operations research, including course work in survival analysis. 2 years of experience as a statistician. Experience programming in SAS, which includes the use of SAS/STAT procedures. Experience with Windows and/or UNIX operating systems.

Additional: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferences: Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, economics, or operations research, including course work in survival analysis. Advanced course work in logitudinal data analysis, survey design and analysis, group sequential methods, multiple imputation for missing data, or spatial modeling. Experience with Bayesian statistics. Experience with SAS/IML and the SAS Macro language. Familiarity with software testing techniques.
