Quantitative Research Professional (San Francisco)
Our firm is a $1B hedge fund based in San Francisco with an established track record and a collegial and research-oriented culture. We have experienced strong growth in our quantitative research group and are looking for a motivated candidate to support senior quantitative analysts with fund research, analysis and operations. Job Responsibilities
• Maintain and scale mission critical infrastructures (manage data feeds, ensure integrity of the data, various analysis packages, programs, etc).
• Assist in the ongoing quantitative theoretical and empirical research to develop, implement, and automate proprietary models.
• Act as liaison with prime brokers and trading desks to ensure consistent trade-execution, quality.
• Develop various quantitative performance attribution and risk management tools.
• Work with financial analysts to create queries, and customized reports.
Requirements
• Advanced degree in finance, engineering, physics, economics, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
• Strong skills in coding, database, and familiarity with one or more statistical packages (e.g. Splus, MatLab or SAS) and exposure to one or more scripting languages (e.g. bash, PERL, Python, etc).
• An interest in investments. Previous exposure to a quantitative role within the financial industry is a plus. As is familiarity with equity research data (e.g. Compustat, Factset, Bloomberg, etc.).
• Must be a fast learner, an independent problem solver, while being detailed oriented (perfectionist tendencies is a prized attribute).
• Comfortable in a complex, demanding, and highly technical environment with ability to produce results and meet deadlines.
• Must have a great attitude, hard work ethic, unblemished integrity, demonstrated good judgment and communication skills, and enjoy being a team player.
