Sr. SAS Programmer(San Francisco, CA)

A leading-edge insurance solutions company is seeking a Senior SAS Programmer in our San Francisco headquarters. We specialize in applying advanced analytic techniques and data management skills to the challenge of accurately assessing risk for our clients, many of the nation’s leading property and casualty insurers. Our company combines vast data resources with leading edge predictive modeling techniques to create the most accurate risk models in the industry. Our clients use these models to give them a competitive advantage in executing their marketing, underwriting and pricing strategies.

The person in this position will:

  • Modify, standardize and implement existing SAS code
  • Write new SAS code from specs
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all programs
  • Participate actively in creating standardized processes and programs

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of applied experience
  • Excellent analytical and system analyst skills
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of SAS/BASE, working knowledge of SAS/STAT
  • Ability to write expert level, highly efficient and accurate programs in SAS
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational database fundamentals
  • Experience working with large databases, ETL experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Statistical/quantitative exposure preferred
  • Experience working with insurance data is a plus
