Senior Ads Quality Statistician - Santa Monica

This position is based in Santa Monica, CA.

Be part of a new thrust of statistics in web-based services.

We are looking for experiences statisticians to help evaluate and improve Google''s ads. The Senior Ads Quality Statistician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring ads quality, looking into problems such as how to optimize both our ads quality and our revenue or how to build models of end user behavior.

Responsibilities:

• Research and develop methods for measuring and analyzing ads quality.
  
• Research new algorithms and methods for optimizing ads quality and revenue.
  
• Research new ways for modeling end user behavior.
  
• Lead investigations into multiple streams of ads quality data.
  
• Design experiments to answer targeted questions.
  
• Find innovative ways to use Google data to improve existing systems and processes.
  
• Serve as a general statistical consulting resource for Google engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:

• PhD in statistics or MS with equivalent experience.
  
• Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
  
• Substantial real-world experience, especially in areas such as data.
  
• Expertise in statistical software (R, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
  
• Proficiency with databases and scripting languages (such as Python).
  
• Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
  
• Ability to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
  
• Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
  
• Experience with auctions and game theory a plus.
