Manager of Web Analytics (Newton, MA)

• SimpleTuition, Inc., a company dedicated to making financial aid choices easier for students, parents and financial aid offices through the use of technology, is seeking a Manager of Web Analytics. The position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing.
• The Manager will help develop robust, accurate, and responsive data warehouse and business analytics capability to support business decision making. The role will encompass analysis and tracking of web based customer acquisition optimization, executive business intelligence and decision making, partner and channel performance measurement, and ROI analysis on business and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in robust and comprehensive analytics programs that have been successfully used to inform and guide marketing and executive business planning efforts. The manager will also have significant input and participation in the daily management of the Marketing, Sales, and Business development functions.
• Compensation will consist of a base salary commensurate with experience, full benefits as well as a discretionary performance based bonus.
  

• Define and manage a best in class market research and analytics function that is responsible for analyzing key performance metrics and communicating these to partners and internal management, as appropriate
• Drive website and online marketing measurement engagements with partners
• Expand and fully leverage WebTrends analytics capabilities
• Provide executive and marketing team with well thought out and meaningful business guidance based on inside and third party analytical resources
• Conduct ongoing campaign performance measurement analysis, including identifying, defining, collecting and tracking key business metrics for new and existing campaigns
• Participating with, and guiding, executive management in the utilization of analytics
• Participating in new business development and partnership opportunities
• Develop and maintain successful working relationships across the company, to facilitate a world-class analytics and performance measurement methodology and culture
• Develop and implement Business Intelligence/Dashboard database and reporting system combining information from multiple sources including for example WebTrends, Partner reporting, Customer service records, Phone usage reports, Email Management reports and Financials
  

• 2 plus years of relevant database, analytical and business measurement experience, in Internet, Agency or Direct Marketing/CRM organizations
• Experience in the selection and management of third party vendors
• Well organized and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
• Superior analytical skills - must be proficient in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple data sources-qualitative analysis a plus
• Must be able to translate business goals into functional strategies
• Experience in B2C internet companies highly preferred
• BA or BS in a related field, i.e., engineering, computer science, economics, etc., with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature. (an MBA is preferred)
• Experience in working with large scale web analytics measurement and reporting platforms such as Omniture, WebSideStory, or WebTrends
• Demonstrated proficiency and use of various databases and analytical tools and techniques (e.g. Cognos, SQL, Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, or analytical and statistical modeling)
