The person should be able to help develop and enhance classifiers targeted at categorization of the billions of documents accessible on the Web. Developing these classifiers presents challenges in the application of machine learning technology and software design principles, text and language analysis, realization of complex algorithms, and C/C++/Perl. You'll work with classification scientists to make cutting edge classifiers which are best suitable for the need of Yahoo search engine. Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of industrial or research experience.
  • Experience with document classification algorithms.
  • HTML/Javascript and web domain knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of machine learning techniques and applications.
  • Experienced in: C++/C, Unix development tools, and scripting languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to use all skills in a team setting.
