Research Analyst - Tufts University (Medford, MA)

The Office of Institutional Research and Evaluation serves as a research resource to the university community. The range of assistance is great - from consulting on survey construction to designing, executing and reporting entire projects. The Office routinely completes outcomes assessments, evaluations, marketing research, and policy analyses for various offices and schools within the university. The Office of Institutional Research and Evaluation seeks an individual with strong communication skills who possesses the ability to present statistical findings in a clear, concise understandable format, to fill its available Research Analyst position.

The Research Analyst provides technical, research and statistical support for various research projects and evaluations. Responsibilities include: designing questionnaires; initiating, conducting and reporting on various research projects; administrating surveys; conducting focus groups or in-depth interviews; meeting with clients to outline parameters of research; preparing reports and communicating results.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Experience with PC Software, Windows, MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate should possess strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including multivariate statistics. Expertise in the use of SPSS or SAS is highly desirable. The Research Analyst should have experience with spreadsheet and graphics software, strong oral and written communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills (ability to work with teams). Basic knowledge of html and web-survey design, administration, and software is a plus. Familiarity with higher education issues, assessment, performance indicators, evaluation techniques and methodologies is strongly preferred.
