Applied Statistician (Chicago, IL)

Opening for an Applied Statistician in a strategy consulting firm. The Cambridge Group, Inc., a leading corporate strategy consulting firm which advises Fortune 100 companies on profitable growth strategies, is seeking a statistician with graduate-level training and related experience for a specialist consultant position within The Cambridge Group's Intellectual Capital Center. The position will be located in Chicago.

The statistician's role will be to work on project teams and internal initiatives that extend our intellectual capital, as well as to apply and disseminate new intellectual capital to consultants in the context of client work. The statistician will report to the firm's Director of Intellectual Capital.

The successful candidate will have extensive training and experience in applying statistical techniques to answer consumer research questions. These techniques should include: discrete choice modeling and related techniques, cluster analysis, and regression analysis. He/she will be expected to keep up with the related literature and latest developments in the field, and to identify ways to expand and enhance our use of statistical tools and to apply them to project work.

The successful candidate will be able to successfully work in a collegial team environment, as well as to interact with clients and suppliers. He/she must have excellent communication skills, as he/she will be required to translate into laymen's terms complex statistical analyses. In addition, the abilities to think creatively, apply statistical analyses to concrete settings, and to adhere to tight deadlines are necessary.

Candidates should have completed a graduate level degree in statistics from a leading academic institution and have at least 1-3 years of work experience doing statistical analysis in an industry or consulting setting, preferably with some consumer research experience.
