Travelers Insurance is building predictive modeling expertise across the company. We have experienced modelers on staff who are applying GLMs and other advanced statistical tools to transform the insurance business. Our successes have increased the demand for predictive modeling skills!
We are seeking multiple individuals both at the Ph.D. and MS levels with strong quantitative and modeling skills who wish to apply those analytic skills to real world business issues. Our opportunities range from 2VP to mid-level analysts. Whether you are an experienced leader and modeler or you have a strong desire to learn, we offer you the opportunity to work alongside some of the most skilled professionals in the insurance industry.
Gary Dean, Keith Holler, and Chris Monsour are highly regarded Fellows of the CAS who have brought their predictive modeling skills to Travelers. All three were speakers at the most recent CAS Predictive Modeling Seminar. They joined Travelers because of the company’s commitment to this strategically important discipline. Gary and Keith jointly chair Traveler’s Center of Excellence in Predictive Modeling, a group formed to promote: (1) sharing of predictive modeling expertise and ideas, (2) training and education, and (3) research. You can work with these talented individuals as well as many others at Travelers.
There openings are within the Personal Insurance research team in Hartford, CT Chicago, IL and St. Paul, MN. If you want to learn new skills and apply predictive modeling tools, we probably have the job that you are looking for!
Ideal candidates will have ACAS or FCAS designations, but candidates with four or more CAS exams will be considered. An advanced degree in statistics is a plus and will be considered in lieu of actuarial credentials if you have property/casualty insurance experience. Candidates must have a strong desire to learn and be willing to invest the effort to learn new modeling skills. Strong computer skills and knowledge of SAS are desirable, but not required.
