Valence Health is recruiting for a Senior SAS Data Analyst.

Job Description:

• The Senior SAS Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analysis of medical costs used to identify areas of cost increase, inefficiencies and to identify potential savings. This includes monitoring and comparing across regions, provider panels and both external and internal benchmarks. Assist local plan leadership with data needs for quality improvement activities (HEDIS and CAHPS). Provide local plan support for physician report card/performance monitoring activities to include both quality of care and medical costs.
• Primary Responsibilities of the Position:
• Process and analyze data to support clinical and financial initiatives for managed care organizations.
• Receive, process, and verify monthly data feeds from clients to incorporate into a data warehouse.
• Design, program, and standardize processes for new clients
• Complete client ad hoc analyses in an efficient and timely manner.
  

• Base SAS and SAS/Macros experience required.
• Competency in data manipulation and analysis: accessing raw data in varied formats with different methods and analyzing and processing data.
• Experience with health care data is highly desirable.
• Excellent PC and database skills including Excel, VB, SQL, MS Access are a plus.
• BA or BS in Computer Science, Business or Healthcare
• 5-plus years healthcare experience in data analyst capacity
• 3-plus years managed care experience, preferably working with the Medicaid Product
• Working knowledge of encounter data reporting and NCQA/HEDIS data base integration.
• Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and communications skills.
  

• Master’s in Business Administration or Healthcare
• 1 year experience moderate to heavy SQL programming. Relational database and financial analysis skills
• Knowledge of state, federal and third party regulations.
