Manager, Marketing (Itasca, IL)
The National Safety Council is looking for an experienced Manager of Integrated Marketing is responsible for the design, production, implementation, optimization, and measurement of Council`s integrated marketing programs including catalogs, direct mail, outside advertising, web, trade shows and circulation program.
The Manager will also be responsible for developing a marketing database designed to analyze and increase customer satisfaction measuring the direct marketing results in a multi-dimensional environment to properly direct and allocate marketing dollars across business units and customer segments for maximum corporate Return on Investment (ROI).
The Manager will be an integral member of a cross functional marketing team providing leadership and direction to successfully strengthen Council`s brand position with its members and customers. The Manager will coordinate and communicate on a regular basis with all senior managers and all departments throughout the organization to directly impact the achievement of revenue and profit goals along with the long-term strategic vision.
This position will be managing the creative team, database marketing research team, and interactive web marketing team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing program from concept to delivery and budget to achieve sales and profit objectives.
- Ensure key strategic messages are communicated effectively to target audiences across all media. Provide a focal point and vision for all of NSC`s directives as to assure the integrated planning of a corporate brand image.
- Conceive and execute programs to increase customer acquisition, retention, conversion rates and customer life time value.
- Measure campaign results addressing issues as RFM, ROI, ROR, customer modeling, name and customer generation, products purchased and life cycle. Utilize the results to develop and implement solutions to improve future results.
- Develop a prospecting and name generation strategy to maximize the amount of inquiries and new customers while increasing the ROR and decreasing the cost per name acquired. Purchase all outside lists to achieve prospecting goals.
- Develop and maintain a marketing database. Strategically utilize this database for best customer modeling, segmentation, CRM, mining and trending analysis.
- Develop and conduct marketing research and studies to drive immediate and long term revenue and customer growth.
- Direct and manage the outside advertising program. - Develop, build and implement the web and internet strategy from a development, content management, business development and revenue stream perspective. - Prepare and monitor annual operating budget for staff, equipment, and other direct departmental expenses; review and monitor all related expenses.
- Develop leadership skills in direct reports through a combination of methods to including leading by example, mentoring, providing feedback and creating growth opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required with 7-10 years marketing experience in B2B and/or Direct Marketing environment plus 3+ years of Managerial experience in a creative, web and/or database marketing environment.
- Must be a leader with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various internal business units.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, merging creative concepts with practical applications.
- Must have strong project management skills, attention to details and the ability to direct multiple complex projects in a fast pace environment.
- Must be able to understand and use data analytics strategies.
- Must be comfortable in a diverse complex matrix organization.
- Strong practical knowledge of measurement design, identifying appropriate metrics, synthesizing data and turning this data into actionable business plan insights and recommendations.
- Must be proficient on the computer with Microsoft Project a definitive plus.
