Statistical Analyst, contract (Menlo Park, CA)

Knowledge Networks is one of the 25 largest US market research companies, best known for pioneering high-quality online market research. KN serves a large, growing, blue-chip client base drawn primarily from the consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, financial services, and media industries.

An entry level/junior position for a statistical analyst who is experienced with SAS programming and has worked with multiple data files. Located in Menlo Park, California, this is a three-month contract position with an option for another three-month renewal depending on performance. There is a possibility that this may become a permanent position in six months but it is not guaranteed at this time.

The position involves weighting data from survey samples, drawing random samples for surveys, merging data files to prepare for data analysis, and doing data quality control checks. The successful candidate will be trained and supervised to become more proficient in these tasks; however, prior statistical experience and SAS programming skills are necessary in order to be considered.

• an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  

• bachelor’s degree in statistics, survey research, psychology, sociology, market research or a similar field that included quantitative training is required;
  
• experience with SAS statistical programming is required (certification as a SAS base programmer is highly desirable), additional experience with SPSS is also preferred;
  
• experience with MS Office software.
