Data Mining & Analysis Manager - Wells Fargo (San Francisco, CA)
Job Description: The Internet Services Group (ISG) manages the delivery of financial products and services to consumer and business customers via the Internet and leads Wells Fargo online channel and e-commerce activity across businesses and geographies. The Online Sales & Marketing (OSM) group is focused on customer management and the sales of online and traditional banking products to consumer and business customers.
The Online Sales & Marketing team within the Internet Services Group (ISG) is looking for a Data Mining and Analysis Manager in its Analytical team to help lead and be responsible for working with marketing partners to provide data-driven insight. The Analytical team consists of several key sub-functions within the group such as data mining, modeling, statistical analysis, data analysis, and forecasting and report development. The group is responsible for the utilization of sophisticated customer information capabilities, analytical applications, tools and solutions, using advanced statistical and quantitative methods, to create business insights, measure business performance, and effectively target marketing programs. Examples of work products include; identifying opportunities derived from customer insight and behavior, segmentation, customer value analysis, portfolio performance, key performance indicators and business metrics, descriptive and predictive models, and standard reporting.
This position designs and leads projects and analyses, often spanning multiple products and/or business lines, to identify and define strategic business issues requiring marketing database analysis and translates this information into insight, knowledge and understanding of business, customers, and products and services. Uses analytical and experimental design techniques to test hypotheses and validate targeting and segmentation strategies. Also responsible for conducting marketing analytics including response modeling, regression analysis, customer profiling and segmentation and various types of descriptive and predictive modeling. Other responsibilities include partnering with the data warehouse and reporting teams on development projects, conduction analysis and reporting and presenting results and recommendations to senior management. This position functions both as an individual contributor as well as leading a small team of analytical professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent and minimum of 10 years experience working with marketing databases, quantitative analytics and business consulting.
- Specific skills and experience in; front-end user tools, large relational databases and data warehousing applications along with 4th generation query languages and statistical software languages and applications - e.g. SAS, KXEN SQL, SPSS, Teradata, regression, multivariate analysis, etc.
- Experience leading major analytical projects and ability to lead a team of analytical professionals.
- Strong negotiation, collaboration, influence and communication skills.
- Strong people management skills and respect for diversity.
- Experience consulting with multiple levels of management..
- Advanced analytical skills.
