Position Description
This is a position for an advanced analyst in the Customer Analytics team. The main responsibility for this analyst will be to develop, test and maintain predictive models and segmentation schemas for the company as well as pull and test the data needed for those models. The analytics will be focused in the following areas: Customer churn, Cross sell up-sell, customer profitability and geographic segmentation. The output of these models will be used to perform enterprise level customer and market analysis, to create customer retention programs and to identify cross sell up-sell opportunities. The position reports to the Manager of Customer Analytics.
Responsibilities - Plan, develop, implement and maintain propensity models in the areas of customer churn , customer cross sell opportunities, customer segmentation develop and geographic segmentation development.
- Aggregate customer data as needed in preparation for model development. Score customer data sets and campaigns lists as needed.
- Work with IS to standardize data aggregates used in modeling and model scores in the data warehouse.
- Work with campaign team and other areas of marketing to determine how modeling can be used to increase the efficiencies of direct marketing, improve customer retention and increase cross sell opportunities.
- Company wide subject matter expert for customer predictive modeling, process, usage, data and insights.
- Provide recommendations for the usage of customer predictive modeling on direct marketing activities for marketing team.
- Provides monthly and adhoc reporting for customer churn and out of contract status to other areas of the organization.
- Provides other adhoc analysis support as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelors Degree or equivalent with technical expertise in data mining; with strong marketing experience is desired.
- 4 - 6 years of related work experience required, preferably in roles supporting database marketing and analysis.
- Strong experience with data mining and statistical techniques (e.g. Classification, Clustering, Models for propensity, churn, and value, Variable Selection, etc.).
- Experimental design and optimization knowledge are a plus.
- Experience with tools for data mining and statistics (SAS, SPSS, Affinium model)
- Knowledge in building reports and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Excel, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
