Database Marketing Analyst (Chapel Hill, NC)
Yankelovich Inc., a market research company that is a leading provider of targeted marketing solutions within the Fortune 500 industry, seeks a Database Marketing Analyst to add value to and support our database marketing division in our Chapel Hill, NC office.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to apply established and innovative database analytical techniques, such as CHAID, regression and principal components analysis to assist in solving our customers’ marketing objectives. A hands on, working proficiency of multiple analytical approaches to solving marketing problems is preferred to expertise with a single statistical technique.
The selected individual will support the database marketing team by working with senior team members in scoping client engagements, while being responsible for developing and delivering multivariate algorithms, developing custom client reports, providing analytical solutions to team members and providing continual insights for process improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand client and non client data for the purposes of developing analytical applications for clients.
- Aggregate and join data for statistical analysis.
- Generate customer/segmentation reports that provide insights into clients’ customers regarding acquisition, retention, attrition and other characteristics.
- Lead, through hands-on statistical programming and insight, statistical modeling efforts to support development and enhanced learning regarding relationships between database information and target responses.
- Provide statistical programming and insight to support, create, execute and monitor data quality assurance processes.
- Create and execute, through hands-on statistical programming, ad-hoc data requests for the database consulting team.
- Provide input that would improve reporting/data processes.
- Maintain clear and up to date documentation for all projects and coding efforts.
- Actively participate in the update and maintenance of data products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in Marketing or Statistics.
- 1-3 years quantitative and programming experience using SAS or SPSS.
- Hands on experience developing database models using a variety of techniques including CHAID, regression, and discriminant analysis.
- Ability to take direction, working both independently and in a team environment, and offering proactive solutions and recommendations.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and present information effectively with internal staff and clients
- Proficient at using Microsoft Office suite of software, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively organize workload in an efficient manner.
- Working knowledge of compiled databases, data processing, direct marketing and database marketing techniques and approaches is a plus.
