Senior Risk Analyst (Irvine, CA or Charlotte, NC)
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for portfolio analysis to determine the profitability of customers.
- Responsible for performing complex analysis and modeling that maximizes profits and asset growth and minimizes credit and operating losses and other risk exposures.
- Reviews, monitors and analyzes trends in current population distributions, credit quality and other performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for loss mitigations and revenue growth and develop strategies to exploit the opportunities
- Analyze the trends in customer attrition and develop strategies for customer retention
- Analyze the trends in different regional offices and provide guidance regarding change in strategy to improve portfolio performance
- May develop more complex program models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.
- Evaluate effectiveness of current strategies and statistical models and work with manager to enhance performance of strategies. Provides analytical support on various product strategies to ensure company goals are met.
- Effectively communicate analysis results and trends to senior management.
- Provide input regarding the direction of current/future credit risk strategies.
- This position can be located in Irvine CA, or Winston-Salem NC, or Charlotte NC.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or other quantitative disciplines. Master's degree preferred. Three to five years experience in credit risk or financial analysis and comfort with complex database environments required. Credit risk management background preferred, marketing or financial analysis a plus. Strong analytical and statistical analysis capabilities. Strong data management skills. Superior programming skills (SAS, SPSS, SQL). Good oral and written communication skills. Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially using Excel and PowerPoint.
