Senior Manager Risk Modeling - PayPal (San Jose, CA)

Primary Job Responsibilities:
PayPal Risk Management team is seeking a top performer who will be a key contributor in an exciting and high-energy growth environment. You will join a talented team for managing risk of online money transfer and detecting and combating online fraud. You will design and develop state-of-the-art risk models as part of PayPals sophisticated risk modeling system using various statistical/mathematical modeling techniques. You will be responsible for managing a team of statisticians working on building statistical models and performing business analysis.

Job Requirements
At least 5 yrs experience in an analytical role within a financial services company. Strong analytical background and statistical modeling experience is expected. Prior management experience is desirable.

• Basic Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other quantitative, engineering area is required. Ph.D. is preferred.
• Previous experience handling data analysis for large banks or financial services companies is preferred.
• Previous industry experience in risk assessment models and fraud detection models is preferred
• Experience with statistical modeling techniques like logistic regression, decision tree, neural network or other pattern recognition, machine learning statistical/mathematical modeling algorithms or techniques is required.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• An energetic team player. Be willing to actively communicate with the team, share ideas and create a synergetic environment which encourages learning, thinking and actions.
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Be enthusiastic and be able to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Familiarity with SAS, SQL and UNIX is strongly preferred
