Data Analyst (Bonita Springs, FL)

• Distribution and Fulfillment of entertainment products to major retail chains throughout North America and direct-to-consumers via the Internet
• Import and Export of periodicals sold in more than 60 countries worldwide
• Coordination of product selection and placement for impulse items sold at checkout counters
• Processing and collection of rebate claims as well as management of sales data obtained at the point-of-purchase
• Design, manufacture and installation of wire fixtures and custom wood displays in major retail chains

FUNCTIONS:

Source interlink is seeking a data analyst for it’s Bonita Springs based data management group. This candidate will be a bridge between the user community and a very broad data environment. Source Interlink is an international entertainment media organization that provides wholesale services to thousands of brick and mortar as well as virtual storefronts to facilitate the delivery of magazines, DVDs, CDs and other entertainment products. These businesses are very complex (and exciting) and require excellent understanding and assisted interpretation of the rich data by the various constituents which include internal users, external users and developers.

• Successful candidate will be skilled in bridging the gap between the user community in a very broad multi database environment. Number one function is to understand business processes as “word problems” and transfer them to actionable data analysis opportunities.
• Develop fluent relational understanding of both the Source Interlink transactional databases as well as the data warehouse. In addition to understanding the databases, it will be important to understand the data flows and relationships between the systems.
• Review requests for data and data usage. Repetitive requests will be identified by the data analyst and directed to more automated or self service opportunities.
• Assist in development of new databases and flows as well as strong participation in the development of new logical data models.
• Use strong business skills, SQL skills, and detective skills to help explain anomalies identified by any portion of the organization to either answer questions or direct critical business issues to the appropriate business unit or IT team.
• Work with business experts and database administrators to model Business Object universes in order to bring independent data retrieval to the user community.

• 4 year degree in either Business or IT related fields
• At least 3–5 years performing in a data analysis role
• Strong verbal skills and ability to understand business discussions. Ability to listen to business problems and see them as related data problems is mandatory
• Excellent self starting skills and ability to work independently particularly as a highly detailed problem solver.
• Very strong SQL Skills and demonstrated experience in data analysis
• Experience working in a SQL Server or Oracle database environment is preferred
• Experience with Business Objects or similar reporting environment is strong plus
• Occasional travel between Bonita Springs, Fl and Coral Springs, Fl
