Product Analyst (Foster City, CA)
Sabermetrics is the analysis of baseball through objective evidence, especially baseball statistics. Moneyball chronicled a new generation of general managers in baseball filled with statistics and math majors that can look past subjective biases and find the truth in the numbers. We are looking for a product analyst to apply the same science to software development, and make design and development recommendations based on a continual and detailed analysis of statistics on how our web-based products and services are adopted and used.
Primary Job Responsibilities: - Define and implement strategies for tracking user behavior across the product and web site
- Select and implement different tracking tools and technologies
- Collect and analyze product and website usage metrics
- Define and track key metrics
- Drill down into data to discover patterns, trends, relationships, dependencies
- Create and manage dashboards demonstrating product trends
- Develop product recommendations based on analysis
Required Skills/Experience:- BA/BS or higher degree from a top school
- Computer science, math or stats background
- Experience in professional environments, preferably in finance, consulting, technology
- Expertise analyzing large volumes of data and familiarity with analysis tools
- Experience applying stat approaches (i.e., fantasy leagues, card-counting, stock picking)
- Fanatical attention to detail, and comfortable thinking through detailed requirements
- Driven team player, collaborator and relationship builder
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
