Job Summary: Design, deploy and monitor transactional portfolio risk strategies.
Primary Responsibilities: - Use statistical analyses to better understand customer behavior and develop solutions to minimize risk of charge off while maximizing spend opportunities.
- Apply statistical techniques to optimize, create and maintain effective credit decision strategies for new applications.
- Lead cross-functional implementation of new strategies utilizing strong project management and communication skills.
- Act as liaison for internal business units to support marketing, customer care and process management as efforts relate to portfolio management.
- Define performance metrics that measure the effectiveness of portfolio risk strategies and respond to ad hoc risk issues.
- Create and maintain accurate reporting of risk variances and trends with analysis for recommended adjustments to controls and models.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of credit behavioral support systems utilizing external scoring, management software packages or programs to aid in portfolio management.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in business, math, statistics, economics or related quantitative discipline or equivalent combination of related education and experience is required. Masters degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of portfolio risk or business strategy experience with ability to perform transaction-based quantitative analysis is required. Three years of credit card or fraud experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) in a Windows environment with an advanced level of proficiency in word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), presentation (PowerPoint) and database (Access) is required.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to lead group discussions and explain complex solutions cross-functionally.
- Ability to apply analytical, computer, statistical and quantitative problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in use of analytical packages used to analyze customer databases (SAS, SPSS, etc.) is a plus.
