Senior Marketing Data Analyst (Novato, CA)

We are currently search for a Senior Marketing Data Analyst.

General Summary:

The Senior Marketing Data Analyst is responsible for developing and using databases to meet corporate and departmental goals. This position works with the marketing team to develop and implement the Company’s marketing programs. This includes: implementing modeling efforts; augmenting the database through the capture of customer data and the purchase of outside data; developing management, merchandising and marketing reports; and analyzing customer data to support planning decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop TravelSmith databases and database marketing skills to be a core competence and a competitive advantage.
  • Responsible for building, evaluating and implementing statistical models to predict response and order value.
  • Responsible for data hygiene/cleansing processes and ensure data integrity. This includes a bi-annual dedupe of our house file, ACS processing, householding and e-mail hygiene.
  • Research and develop Business Intelligence tools and concepts for the TravelSmith Marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain opt-in status to ensure compliance with DMA regulations and TravelSmith Privacy Policies.
  • Build on our strategy for external data overlays
  • Work with the MIS and Marketing Department to evaluate, anticipate and recommend database hardware and software needs
  • Work with E-Commerce Team to support our e-mail marketing strategy and online marketing efforts.
  • Develop appropriate Management, Merchandising, Marketing and demographic reports to support business planning and analysis.
  • Responsible for maintaining LTV analysis.
  • Support the Marketing Department by enabling them to access information easily in order to make strategic planning decisions.
  • Pull files of customer data to send to external vendors for mailing and analysis purposes.
  • Manage supporting staff while providing a goal oriented environment.
  • Research and recommend new promotional avenues to increase revenue.
  • Process and approve all related invoices from vendors.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by manager

Qualifications/Strengths
  • College graduate in related field, MBA a plus.
  • Marketing experience required.
  • Proven expertise with Microsoft TRANSACT-SQL, Access and Excel.
  • 2-3 years experience with Relational Databases.
  • Experience of Direct Mail/catalog industry preferred.
  • Requires problem solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of statistics and modeling helpful but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy with and understanding of numbers.
  • Good communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to balance multiple demands and thrive in a collaborative environment.
