Data Warehouse Business Analyst (Americus, GA)
Description
Habitat is seeking a talented individual to take the lead role in determining and analyzing functional requirements for advancing the maturity of the organization's decision support capability, and in designing effective data structures for use in decision support systems (DSS), such as the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), data marts, and enterprise reporting/business intelligence (BI) solutions. The position is located in Americus, GA.
The Data Warehouse Business Analyst will: - analyze, refine and document functional requirements for DSS projects
- lead/ facilitate design sessions with key users and other IS staff
- develop and manage logical and physical date models that fulfill functional requirements and conform to the organization’s data architecture for DSS
- design data integration points and conformed dimensions
- capture, collect and manage business metadata
- identify, document, analyze and facilitate the resolution of source system data quality issues that could put the DSS project at risk
- document technical designs and conduct design reviews as required
- provide consultation with other team members and users as needed
- responsible for customer satisfaction of delivered functionality
- provide input into standards and “best practices” related to metadata management, modeling/ model management, data stewardship, data integration, and data administration (refining those best practices through time based on industry trends and emerging technologies)
Required Skills: - Bachelor degree required
- 5 to 7 years of related experience
- Expert technical skills with logical and physical data modeling tools and techniques.
- Advanced to Expert skills in designing decision support schemas, specifically, data warehouses and data marts.
- Expert analytical and facilitation skills.
- Expert skills in identifying and capturing business rules and business requirements.
- Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred), SQL coding, and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects).
