Business Data Analyst (Irvine, CA)
Job Description:
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive research and data analysis for key corporate initiatives. This analyst will play a critical role by providing data-driven insight about all Local.com properties. You must posses a unique blend of both hard and soft skills in order to conduct and explain the research you have performed. A healthy dose of investigative curiosity is a must as this person will be required to learn and navigate a vast data environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on research and data manipulation
- Define and scope research projects
- Select appropriate methodologies for retrieving, transforming and analyzing data
- Generate reports, presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders
- The work will emphasize data retrieval, reporting and analysis
- Leverage expertise on data models and reporting to assist management & operations teams to efficiently access needed data and drive business analyses and decisions
- Support management in leading the following reporting functions: data consolidation, management reporting and data analysis
- Design and implement metrics and reports to measure key business drivers
Qualifications: - 3 – 5 years experience in data driven marketing research, management consulting or data mining
- Qualified candidates will be innovative, proven performer with a history of delivering effective reports, data analysis and modeling
- Expertise in the full-cycle of skills required for data research
- SQL programming skills required to access data
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite of applications with advanced skills in Excel, Access & SQL
- Awareness of statistical methodologies
- Strong critical/conceptual thinking skills combined with the ability to synthesize information to see the big picture while effectively managing details
- Self-starter with a passion for data and understanding of data architecture
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Bachelors degree preferred
