SAS 9 Developer, contract (Frederick, MD)

The positions are more Administration than programming (working with users, troubleshooting, etc.) Next most important skill is Unix (commands, environment, scripting, directories, files, etc.) Also mentioned work with xwindows, batch SAS, and command line ***

If you have SAS 8 experience with E-guide or various other SAS tools that would be acceptable.

Communicate effectively within project team to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.

Minimum qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of SAS Base, SAS Macro, SAS GRAPH, SAS STAT and the ability to write maintainable, supportable and well-documented SAS code.
• Experience with SAS UNIX and Windows.
• Knowledge of relational data base structure and experience working with complex data systems.
• Experience demonstrating a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines.
• Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities.
• Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
• Demonstrated initiative and motivation.
• Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently.

BA/BS degree or equivalent in computer science, statistics, mathematics, business administration or related field and 3-5 years of programming experience or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Technical project or team lead experience desired. Large scale SAS 9 experience in a UNIX environment preferred.
