SAS Programmer (Des Moines, IA)
Meredith Corporation’s Database Research department seeks a degreed individual to develop and maintain software and documentation, and manage analytical and data processing functions. Position Summary:
- Develop and maintain SAS programs, SQL programs, UNIX scripts and procedural documentation.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis support for database marketing analysts and/or marketers by developing and implementing business solutions.
- Execute database marketing projects. Set up control parameters for various software programs, submit scripts for execution and record results in order to prepare data files for analysis.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in management information systems, computer science, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline. Work experience considered in lieu of educational degree.
Experience: Minimum 1 year working experience in UNIX environment preferred.
Specific Knowledge: Working knowledge of at least one statistical software package such as SAS or SPSS. Knowledge of UNIX shell programming or SQL a plus. Personal computers and all associated software.
Skills and Abilities: Good analytical skills with emphasis on logical and practical solutions to problem solving. Good attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills.
