Technical Team Lead (San Mateo, CA)


Vendio is looking for a hands-on Technical Lead, reporting to Director of Engineering, to lead the Vendio's Data Warehousing (text, DB and reporting) and the seller and buyer services that are powered by it. You will be leading a team that includes Senior Engineers including off-shore (3-6 engineers) in designing solutions, building architectures, algorithms, and software to analyze billions of e-commerce transaction data.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, education, experience and ability required.

  • B.S. with 5-6 years or MS with 4 years experience in data analytics/mining, search technologies/algorithms and decision support systems.
  • Expert in SQL, SQL performance and DW designs (ex: star schema ¡V fact dimensional)
  • Should be comfortable in leading a small team of 3-6 talented engineers.
  • Should have prior experience in managing large volumes of data and high performance and high traffic offline systems.
  • Experience with inverted indexing systems and technologies a must.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Java and J2EE technologies is a must.
  • Should be adept at working with databases (Oracle, MySQL) and file systems.
  • Thorough understanding of OLAP, data mining, ad-hoc query and reporting tools
  • Experience with open source application servers (ex: Tomcat, Resin) and open source libraries (ex: Jakarta)
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must have strong Technical Depth, Inter-personal skills, oral and written communication skills.
