Position Description

This is a full-time permanent position. Client is adding depth to their Wisconsin-based analytics team. Currently has multiple openings for entrepreneurial data modeler/data miner, with responsibilities to include statistical analysis and algorithm development. Responsible for performing various activities related to business analysis and/or modeling. Duties may include: performing complex analysis and/or modeling of customer data to identify and reduce risk. May develop more complex programming models to extract data and/or manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop predicative models using company accepted methodologies and tools.
  • Working with a team, define and lead the effort to identify risk factors for modeling use.
  • Work with stake holders to clearly define targets and be able to present results in a manner understood by stakeholders.
  • Be able to demonstrate and validate the logic of modules built.
  • Be able to manage timelines for individual client projects with minimal supervision.
  • Develop templates and procedures to improve delivery times and quality of client modules.
  • Provide leadership and direction to other team members as required.

Experience/Knowledge/Attributes
  • Proven experience with multivariate, non-linear modeling.
  • Experience with SAS, SPSS, or similar tool sets.
  • Demonstrable SQL skills.
  • Outstanding communications skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate and translate complex mathematical concepts into language understood by clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Reporting and/or data warehousing experience a plus.
  • Programming language experience in Java, C++ or related language a plus.

Education/Qualifications
  • MS degree in quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering), or computer science, or related degree. PhD a plus.
  • Solid foundation in statistics.
  • 3+ years of predictive modeling.
  • 3+ years previous experience using SPSS/SAS and/or other advanced statistical/mathematical software.
  • Fluency in both SAS programming for data management and statistical analyses and database management for facilitating participant tracking, study management, and report generation are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) analytical results and experiences to a diverse audience.
  • Loves to interrogate data; is inquisitive, loves to slice and dice data.
  • Exceptional analytical/writing skills.
  • Candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of statistics and survey research methods as well as good oral communication skills.
