This position is critical to the success of the Customer Research Group and has been implemented in an effort to better support the Research Manager and the various Company businesses, while also providing associates with back-up support and career pathing opportunities within Research. This role will participate in the planning, development, implementation and analysis of research to support Customer Satisfaction, Product Expansion and New Services. Under direction of the Customer Research Manager, this person will execute key marketing research activities. This role will have one to two Research Associates reporting directly to him/her and will be responsible for overseeing these individuals.
Position Requirements - Day-to-day management of projects, including the analysis, reporting and presentation of results
- Identifies research needs in a proactive and consultative manner, working with business partners to address these issues
- Provides actionable and insightful summaries to business partners that go beyond reporting of findings to that of solving problems
- Establishes solid and productive working relationships with individuals across the company at various levels of the organization
- Interprets research results and facilitates ongoing two-way communications to internal and external partners
- Leads Research Associates by example and assists in elevating image of the group
- Monitors the activities of his/her projects, ensuring timely and actionable reporting of results
- Manages a staff of 1-2 Research Associates, developing and guiding individuals as appropriate
- Has accountability for and adherence to budget and meeting timelines
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Marketing Research, Marketing or Statistics; Master's Degree in these fields a plus
- 7+ years of research or related consulting experience required,
preferably on both the vendor and client side - Has the ability to establish and sustain strong customer relationships and effectively balance customer needs with those of the business
- Has a history managing large-scale studies such as customer satisfaction, brand image, mystery shopping, etc.
- Possesses effective time management skills
- Has a proven track record of taking data to insight
- Possesses a command of sophisticated analytical techniques
- Has previous experience managing people
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stand-up presentations
- Possesses a broad business perspective, preferably in a B2B environment
- Has cross-functional orientation and the ability to work successfully in a matrix organization
- Has experience in working as part of a team to achieve common goals Position requires 10% travel
